So, now I'm gonna go a little deeper into what a Distro is. Distro, is a short way of referring to "Distribution", and it is used to categorize the different versions of the OS. Although it's all based on the same UNIX system, several differences can be found from one to another. Probable the most famous ones are Debian, Ubuntu, which is a derivate of Debian, Gentoo, ArchLinx, Mandrake (Now known as Mandriva), those among others.
