Distro, is a short way of referring to "Distribution", and it is used to categorize the different versions of the OS. Although it's all based on the same UNIX system, several differences can be found from one to another. Probable the most famous ones are Debian, Ubuntu, which is a derivate of Debian, Gentoo, ArchLinx, Mandrake (Now known as Mandriva), those among others.

Following, there is a list of some distros that can be found among the internet to be downloaded.

Why GNU/Linux?

So, if you are wondering why to choose GNU/Linux, well, probably the most important thing it's because, it is free!!! But don't be naive, free is a big word depending of how it is used.

Free as in it does not cost a thing!

Free as in I can do whatever the heck I want whenever I want however I want!

Free as in no one can stand in my way to have my own OS except me!

So, that's what some people think is more important and why this OS is so cool...but, that's not it, and here is when it starts to sound to good to be true and like a freaking TV offer comercial...

Linux is an Open Source OS, meaning that the code of the OS (Kernel) is open to be altered, modified, constructed in how many ways possible...and whoever manages to do so can conquer the world...well...probably it's an exaggerated phrase, but in a way, yeah, could be. So, now it's easy to assume, although it's not an assumption but a fact, that each OS is unique and personal, so there can be an infinite amount.

There are several Distros, where distro is how a version of the OS is called, that are already released and ready to use, some of them are the Big Pappa, and the rest are derivates of the Big Pappas...I will talk more about the Distros later on.

Some Distros are totally free...in every way...other, are not free...in any way...there are distros that are specifically made to fulfill certain needs of big moneymaking companies that want a custom made version of this awesome OS...and of course no work is for free, they need to charge for the amount of hours they spent sitting down in front of a PC and the knowledge they have acquired.

So, that's all for now, all of the above, (it's not an option) is my own personal opinion based on my personal and third persons experiences and comments...

Music is Life

Somusic is LIFEwhy? Because we are made out of molecules and they are made by by atoms which are made by subatomic particles that are in constant movement creating vibrations, and are those vibrations the ones that give something it’s form and state, and the vibrations are expressions of energy that are also transformed into sound and ultimatelythose sounds are the ones that create lifemusic is a composition of soundstherefore wordsLIFE IS MUSIC!!!
